January 7, 2003 and my last day taking pretty pictures...
Although tomorrow will be my last day in Alaska, today is my last day to go out and take photos. Tomorrow I'll just stop by and take photos of more items for the www.wolfsongalaska.org gift shop. Sad to leave, but I'll be back!
I was at Eklutna Lake before. In fact, it was just a little more than a year ago on my previous trip to Alaska. Just for fun, here's a direct link to that page. Back down the mountain it had been gloomy and overcast all day, so we really did not think about going on a long trip today. As it turned out, it was quite clear north of us and so I'm really glad I decided I wanted to do one last trip to take photos. The walking trail to the back of this lake is rather long, about 10 miles long. I think I'll wait for a summer trip to take that walk. Although the mile or so we walked was not bad, it gets dark really early here and it was nearly zero degrees. I am not up to that kind of walking ;-)
Well, I hope you have enjoyed this little travel log of this winter trip to Alaska. Any time is a great time to come up and see this place. My photos only hint at its beauty.
