Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5

Day 2 in Alaska!

Day two, December 26, rain. LOTS AND LOTS OF RAIN! Hey, ain't is supposed to snow in Alaska? I think they call this the pineapple express -- warm Pacific storm from Hawaii drenching what just last week was an Alaska 20 degrees below zero. Now, it's nearly 50 degrees! All the snow is gone from the trees, it is bleak and well, icky looking. Sigh. Decided to just go down to the exhibit and do some work taking photos for their online-gift shop. www.wolfsongalaska.org is their website -- which I need to work on one of these days ;-)

They have a really neat museum/exhibit in Downtown Anchorage. Lots of educational displays about wolves and wolf habitat. Lots of my photos ;-)

Maria, Tom's wife (Tom Talasz started Wolf Song of Alaska back in 1990), is a professional artist and has much of her work there too - she also helped with a number of the displays. Here is a really cool painting, an original one of a kind and way cool -- Maria painted of a wolf wrapped in the American Flag. It's for sale if anybody is interested ;-)

I took quite a lot of merchandise photos, but I will not bore anybody here with those. However, here are a couple photos of what the museum looks like - there is of course much, much more, a total of 4 rooms in all.

Here is Sidra having fun with what's left of one of her toys and Connie, who runs the gift shop, is in charge of the exhibits, made several of the exhibits for that matter, in the background laughing. Oh, the towel. Well, it was raining all day and she was quite wet...
